How we handle your information

What this policy covers

This policy covers meltgridcanada.ca and the information you give us through the design and estimate request form, by phone, or by email. It does not cover any other site you may reach by following a link from this one.

What we collect

When you submit a design and estimate request, we collect what you enter in the form:

• Project type (residential or commercial) and the areas you want to keep clear
• Surface type and coverage preference
• Approximate dimensions of the area
• Postal code
• Timeline
• Name, phone number and email address
• Any notes you add
• Any photos or plans you choose to attach

If you call or email us instead, we collect whatever you choose to tell us in that conversation or message.

Information collected automatically

The form also records the page you submitted it from and, where present, the source information in the link you arrived from (such as utm_source, utm_medium,utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term). This tells us which page or campaign a request came from; it is stored in your browser only for the current visit (session storage) and is not used to identify you personally beyond that.

How we use it

We use the information you submit to:

• Review your request and confirm it is a fit for us
• Prepare a design and estimate, including sharing relevant project details with the manufacturer or the qualified trades involved in your project, where that is required to design or quote the work
• Contact you about your request by phone or email

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to your request without asking you first.

Service providers who process this information

We use third-party services to run this website and handle form submissions. Using a service provider means your information passes through their systems to reach us; it does not mean we have handed over control of it, and we only use providers for the specific job described.

• Formspree (formspree.io) receives and delivers design and estimate form submissions, including any attached photos or plans, to us by email. Formspree is based in the United States, so form submissions are processed on servers there. Formspree's own privacy practices are described atformspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
• Hosting provider. This website is hosted by a third-party web hosting provider, which processes standard web traffic (such as IP addresses in server logs) to serve the site to your browser.
• Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to collect standard website usage data — such as pages viewed, approximate location and how visitors arrived at the site — with IP addresses shortened. It is not connected to your name, email or phone number. You can see Google's own privacy information atpolicies.google.com/privacy.

Cookies and similar technology

The design and estimate form uses your browser's session storage, not a tracking cookie, to remember campaign-source information (see above) for the current visit only; it clears when you close your browser. Google Analytics sets its own cookies on this site, as described in its privacy policy linked above.

Retention

We keep design and estimate requests, including any attached photos or plans, for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your request and, if a project goes ahead, for the records a project of that kind normally requires. If you would like us to delete information we hold about you, contact us and we will do so unless we have a legitimate reason to keep it, such as an ongoing project.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, including sending form submissions over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy rights

Under Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA, where it applies), you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to withdraw your consent to future contact at any time. To do any of these, contact us at info@meltgridcanada.ca. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This website and its form are intended for adults arranging a property project, not for children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page if what we collect or how we use it changes — for example, if we connect a different form provider or add a new analytics tool. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
